C4J: Your Kingdom come, Your will be done

Last week, in our Cry 4 Justice Prayer Group, what stuck out to me was one of the phrases we prayed, which Jesus told us to pray in Matthew 6:10

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
Who’s Kingdom? ….the Father’s. the One who ADORES you…the One who LAVISHES love on You….the One who PROTECTS you and is JEALOUS FOR you….the One who delights in making good things FOR you and the One who rejoices in making you, His Beloved, new

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
What’s a Kingdom? an area, a place, a land, a territory ruled by a King..anything owned, established, ruled, and under the control of a King

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done
(As defined online): the verb, “come”: Move or travel toward or into a place thought of as near or familiar to the speaker.

Father, the One who delights in us and in our good, COME! We want you closer! We want everything You own, everything You created to KNOW that it is under your complete submission and rule! We want people and all of creation to KNOW and ACKNOWLEDGE, BELIEVE and ACCEPT, RESPOND and WORSHIP You as God!

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done
God’s will: The Father does not just ‘wish’ things happen in the future. He KNOWS the future. Heck, He HOLDS the future! He MADE the future before there was a beginning of us….before we had a brain to even think about the fact that we exist and that we once didn’t exist. He has the future in control. We don’t pray for His will to be done to remind Him that it is to be done. We pray for His will to be done in order that we align our will with His! So, Father, we WANT and LONG FOR and DESIRE Your will! Your will be done!

We want Your will, because Your will is
– Good for us (Romans 8:28) [“us” being those who love God and are called according to His purpose]
– for us to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
– for us to sing songs and make melody to God with our hearts (Ephesians 5:19)
– for us to have the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7)
– for us to have perfect love, which casts out fear (1 John 4:18)
– for us to overcome
“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

So, Father, we want to be OVERCOMERS who love as You love….who have peace that passes understanding. We want to be filled with YOUR SPIRIT, and we want to sing songs of praise and worship out of that place. We want to sing out of an overflow of joy and love and peace. We want to be more like You. We just want YOU! Father, we want Your Son, Jesus, to come back! We miss Him! We want Your will to be done!

So, Father, the Spirit and the Bride say COME! – Revelation 22:17

About morgangascho

I grew up in Iowa, USA (famous for growing corn). I'm contemplative, I love writing, and blogging has become a hobby. Writing worship music is a way to engage in sweet conversation with the Divine Creator of the Universe, Jesus. He is my life. I am hidden in Him and I pray that someday I will know what that means. Until then, I'm seeking His glory, waiting for the day when it will all be revealed to me.
