The Gospel is Sufficient

I just got back from a weekend conference in Kansas City, USA called STAND. Many wise things were said, but I cannot get over the simplicity of the Truth of the phrase that stuck out the most: “The Gospel is Sufficient”.

At the conference, we talked about racial reconciliation, about governmental structures failing, and about injustices in the U.S. and in the world.

Still the phrase, THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT, sticks out.

The Gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ – has been and always will be sufficient. The Gospel is what has, what will, and what is setting people free. THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.

Do you have questions? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.
Are you sad, weary, worn down, or heavy hearted? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.
Are you prideful and in need of conviction? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.
Are you unrighteously angry and need to forgive? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.
Are you alone and in need of a family? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.
Are you depressed from having no resolution for justice? THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT.

The Gospel is the Truth we need to know. It doesn’t have to be complicated. The solution to justice doesn’t have to be complicated. Jesus is King. He has a Kingdom. He has a culture – a way of doing things. It’s by repentance and forgiveness and by going low to serve others that we live. That’s His culture. That’s how He told us to live. It’s simple (in theory). Hard to do? Yes, but He also never promised an easy life. THE GOSPEL IS SUFFICIENT …and not just in theory but in the reality of our every day lives.

“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11

At the conference, we were challenged by a few questions that brought me such joy because I was thinking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The questions were simple. There are some questions below:
1. Define the Gospel
2. What verses explain the Gospel?
3. What passages address social issues?

These were great starter questions for me and I want to delve further into it. As always, feel free to send verses, insights, or share comments regarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ being sufficient! 🙂 Thanks for reading!

Writing worship music is a way to engage in sweet conversation with the Divine Creator of the Universe, Jesus. He is my life. I am hidden in Him and I pray that someday I will know what that means. Until then, I'm seeking His glory, waiting for the day when it will all be revealed to me.

Thanks for the simple but profound answer to all of life’s problems. May we forever STAND on that truth.
