Freely Indulge in Worship!

Lately, the Lord has shown me different ways to engage in worship with Him. He’s reminded me that WORSHIP IS WARFARE!

Engaging our hearts with the Lord looks different for every person. Worship looks different for me depending on what I’m talking to the Lord about and what He’s saying to me. Lately, though, worshiping the Lord sometimes looks like dancing. Movement has helped me to engage with the Lord. When I’m dancing, I’m reminded of Jesus’ victory and that He’s made us victorious.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

When I’m dancing, it feels like my body is engaging in the Truth that I am One with Jesus, that I am victorious, and that He has made me to partner with Him.

When I’m moving, I feel the Lord reminding me that Jesus has lifted me up to the Heavenly places.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus… – Ephesians 2:4-6

We were raised up with Jesus and seated in the Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I didn’t make this up. Jesus says it in His Word. I need to be reminded of this Truth. I’m reminded I’m victorious.

What helps you to remember you’re victorious? What helps you to engage your heart with the Lord?

For me, movement has proved to be helpful in engaging my heart with the Lord in order that I can more fully love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength, and all my mind. Engaging my body helps me to love the Lord more fully in all these ways.

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Luke 10:27

If it helps you to engage (mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, or in whatever way) with the Lord, then move your body! Dance! Do whatever you need to do to engage with the Lord. We have complete and full freedom FROM sin to indulge in worshiping Jesus! YOU HAVE FREEDOM TO WORSHIP JESUS! I HAVE FREEDOM TO WORSHIP JESUS! (Galatians 5:1)

INDULGE IN WORSHIP!

Sometimes jumping around reminds me that I’m not stuck to some standard that I made for myself to follow or that someone else says that I should follow. Jumping around reminds me that I have freedom! Dancing reminds my body and my soul that I have freedom! Even if it seems weird at first, I’d encourage people to try it, because for me it’s stirred up joy within the sweet Holy Spirit! If you already know how to easily engage your heart with the Lord (walking on the beach, staring at the sky, painting, screaming, running, jumping on a trampoline, sewing, creating, building, ect.) go do that! Feel free to indulge in worship all the time! Hehe! It’s great!

If it’s helpful to have a specific song, check out this song!

About morgangascho

I grew up in Iowa, USA (famous for growing corn). I'm contemplative, I love writing, and blogging has become a hobby. Writing worship music is a way to engage in sweet conversation with the Divine Creator of the Universe, Jesus. He is my life. I am hidden in Him and I pray that someday I will know what that means. Until then, I'm seeking His glory, waiting for the day when it will all be revealed to me.
